To be eligible, you must have registered for at least one in-person class that was transitioned to virtual instruction. If you were taking exclusively online classes before the COVID-19 pandemic, you are not included in this settlement.
Each class member will receive an equal pro rata portion of the Net Settlement Fund, after deducting attorneys' fees, costs, service awards, and administration costs from the total settlement amount of $647,000.00.
You can choose how to receive your payment by submitting an Election Form online. Options include digital payment methods or a physical check mailed to your address. If you don't submit an Election Form, a check will be mailed to your last known address.

Payments will be distributed after the Court grants final approval to the settlement and after any appeals are resolved. The final approval hearing is scheduled for May 21, 2025. If there are no appeals, payments could be distributed within 60-90 days after the final approval date.
If you do nothing, you will automatically receive settlement benefits if you are eligible. However, without submitting an Election Form, your payment will be mailed as a check to your last known address. To choose a digital payment method or update your address, you should submit an Election Form online.
If you wish to exclude yourself from the settlement (opt out), you must submit a written opt-out statement to the Settlement Administrator by April 9, 2025. Your opt-out request must include your full name, address, telephone number, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to be excluded from the settlement.
